Each program begins with the following introduction:
“There is a thirst we feel in our
lives. It is not a thirst for
water. It is a thirst in our
inner spirit. It is a thirst
to satisfy our deepest need, deep in our hearts.
This thirst pushes us to do crazy things.
We try to raise more camels than our land can handle.
We try to earn more money than our boutique can provide.
We try to have more children than the wife of our youth can give
us. But none of these things
will satisfy us. Our thirst
can only be satisfied, through the Stream in Desert.”
Here is
the conclusion that is at the end of each program:
“At last we have found a way to bring this message
of Good News to you, through these radio programs.
It's time to think carefully about what you have heard today.
Gather together with your family and with your village, and decide
whether you-all want to follow Irôw through Issa Al-Mesih, or not.
“If you decide to drink from Issa Al-Mesih, the Stream in the Desert,
please contact us. We would
like to answer your questions, and pray with you about your deepest
needs.” We then give the
e-mail and postal address to contact Sahara Bâ.
Then, before playing the theme song, we say, “Until
we meet again, may Irôw satisfy your soul’s thirst, through the Stream
in the Desert.”
Our target
audience is the refugees suffering in the DarFur Crisis.
It is their suffering that has pushed us to encourage them through
the Book of Irôw (the Beria word for God).
We have been so encouraged by this Book in our own difficulties
that we felt obliged to share its words of hope with our Beri brothers who
are suffering. However, these
lessons will also have an impact on all the Beri who listen.
Not only will the Chadian Beri hear the Word of Irôw through these
lessons, but also those who are not aware of the
DarFur
crisis will hear about the difficult situation that their Sudanese
brothers are facing.
These programs are currently being broadcast on
Voice of Hope, the Christian FM station in N'Djaména. They
are also being broadcast by shortwave radio throughout Chad and Sudan.
