Sahara Bâ Program 12:

A Husband and Son for a Faithful Widow

There are many different kinds of people listening to this program today.  Some of you are students, some of you are merchants.  Some of you are children, some of you are old men and old women.  Some of you are parents of children… and some of you are widows.

Today’s story is about a widow.  If you are a widow today, I am sure that the day you were married was one of the happiest days of your life.  You were young, and had finally found someone who promised to take care of you, and build a household with you.  But death is an appointment that no one can avoid.  One terrible day, you lost your husband, and it was one of the saddest days of your life.  If we could hear you as you told us your story, we know that your words would make our hearts to cry.

In Beri culture, the widow will usually stay with her husband’s family.  She does not usually go back to her own family.  For those of you who are widows today, what would be the greatest blessing you could have?  What is the greatest prayer and desire you have within your heart?
